Corporate Flight Attendant Jamie White

This week we are spotlighting Jamie White, a corporate flight attendant based out of Dallas, Texas. Read on to learn more about Jamie and her favorite destination – Puerto Vallarta, Mexico! She is sure to leave you inspired and ready for your next trip to this tropical destination.

How long have you been a flight attendant?

I’ve been a corporate flight attendant for over three years now.

Where did you receive flight attendant training?

Beyond & Above in South Florida.

When was your last recurrent?

June 2015

Which aircraft have you flown on during your career?

  • Challenger 600, 601
  • Legacy 600
  • Falcon 2000
  • Gulfstream 3, 4, 550

What are your favorite types of cuisine?

I love Mexican and sushi!

What is your favorite destination, and why?

Puerto Vallarta. The beaches, the people and the food are all amazing!

What is your favorite food in Puerto Vallarta?

My favorite food to eat in Puerto Vallarta is the tacos from a little place called Pancho’s Takos.

What are some activities you would suggest for a corporate flight attendant visiting Puerto Vallarta for the first time?

The locals make beautiful sandcastles on the beach. I recommend walking the boardwalk in town, you will always find something to do there. The shopping and taste-testing food was my favorite.

Any cultural tips for a corporate flight attendant visiting Puerto Vallarta for the first time?

First timers will find lots of things to do at no or little cost. Taxis are about 50 pesos. Culture is a beautiful part of the city.

What are some in-flight catering challenges you have experienced?

One challenge I have faced was the night before a flight; I put food in the refrigerator at the FBO for the next day. When I arrived, it was not there.

How did you recover?

As soon as I saw it missing, I started calling local restaurants and caters to see which one could have my order there quicker. In the end, it worked out!

What made you decide to become a corporate flight attendant?

I love traveling the world and enjoy caring for people.

What do you feel are essential skills for a successful corporate flight attendant?

It is vital to be punctual, have comprehensive training for flight emergency procedures, excellent hospitality skills, as well as good organization and time management skills

What advice would you give someone looking to become a corporate flight attendant?

It is the best job in the world; it is very rewarding. If you have the passion for doing this as a career, take the plunge!
