It is hard to pinpoint the origin of banana cream pie, but many people think it came from the American Midwest, where pies have been popular for many years. Bananas used to be an exotic fruit. It wasn’t until the end of the 19th century, when advances in transportation made bananas easily available to the general population. That’s when the pie was introduced to everyone.
