Business Aviation Catering and Travel Tips for Denver, Colorado

While Denver is a popular destination for winter outdoor activities, June through August is the peak season for visiting the city. Denver’s moderate rainfall during the warmer months of the year, and centralized location in the continental United States, make it a convenient location to visit for business or personal travel. The “Mile High City” is situated in the Rocky Mountains, and in the High Plains region of America’s Great Plains. Denver is currently one of the fastest growing locations in the United States.

While operating to Denver on a private aviation mission, there are eight airports in the city and surrounding area. Rocky Mountain Metropolitan Airport (KBJC), Fort Collins-Loveland Airport (KFNL), Boulder Municipal Airport (KBDU) and Greeley Weld County Airport (KGXY) to the north; Centennial Airport (KAPA) and Colorado Springs Airport (KCOS) to the south; and Denver International Airport (KDEN) and Front Range Airport (KFTG) to the east.  Centennial Airport and Rocky Mountain Metropolitan Airport are the two busiest airports in regards to private aviation traffic. Peak in-flight catering for private aviation starts in April and lasts through October. However, peak season starts back up as soon as the snow falls and ski season begins.

Depending upon the season when you are traveling to Denver, a number of outdoor activities are available. During the summer, Denver has several festivals to enjoy, with movies, concerts, food and drink all at the forefront. The Red Rocks Park and Amphitheater is a geological wonder that shouldn’t be missed. You can explore the park by hiking or biking, and catch a concert in the world’s only natural amphitheater with pitch-perfect acoustics. For a more in-depth look at the city’s evolution, the American Museum of Natural History is the perfect stop, plus it is right by the Denver Zoo.

When it comes to dining, downtown Denver and Cherry Creek have great restaurants. If you have enough time on the ground, take time to explore and shop downtown in the 16th Street District. The Cherry Creek District is also known as a top shopping destination for the city, complete with high-end hotels for when you are ready to relax.

Denver is also home to many professional sports teams, such as the Denver Nuggets, Colorado Rockies, Denver Avalanche and Denver Broncos. If you are a lacrosse fan or haven’t had the opportunity to watch a match before, you have the Colorado Mammoth and Denver Outlaws to pay a visit.
