For when the rain comes through, Sarasota has lot of indoor activities. Being one of the most cultural and artistically rich areas in all of Florida, there are tons of things to do indoors. One of the most popular places to go is the Ringling. An estate that covers 66 acres and was home to the Ringling Brothers which includes a Circus Museum, a theater and gardens. Although the Ringling brother’s property is the most popular, there are many other museums and galleries to visit all over Sarasota.
After seeing some of the state’s most beautiful art, head over to eat some of the local cuisine. Sarasota’s most popular food is seafood and rightfully so. A local favorite is Duval’s Fresh Local Seafood or Dry Dock Waterfront Grill. Dry Dock claims bragging rights to some of the best views and the best flavors of all. Careful, during sunset its absolutely full but completely deserving. If you want to eat like a local, the fish tacos or grouper sandwich are some of their most popular dishes.
To get around Sarasota you can either rent a car or, a fan favorite, ride a bike. This small beach town is easy to get around and pedestrian friendly. With all the islands situated so close, there is always entertainment and sunshine right around the corner.
